1. Who this policy is from

This policy covers the Android application Adinand Auto File Sorter (package com.jyoti.zenautofilesorter), published on Google Play by Adinand Innovations. Questions about this policy or about the app can be sent to [email protected].

2. Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or sensitive user data. Specifically, it contains:

• no user accounts, sign-in, or registration of any kind;
• no analytics or usage-tracking SDK;
• no advertising SDK and no advertising identifier;
• no crash-reporting or telemetry service;
• no contacts, location, camera, microphone, or calendar access.

We do not have a server. There is no account to compromise and no database in which your information could be held, because none is ever sent to us.

3. How the app uses the files on your device

The app's only function is to move files that are already on your device from your Downloads folder, and from any other folders you choose to watch (Pro), into categorised sub-folders, such as Download/Sorted Files/Documents.

To do that, the app reads the name, extension, size, and modification date of files in the folders it organises. It uses the extension to decide which category a file belongs to: the app never reads what is inside your files to sort them — sorting is by extension only. File contents are read, on the device, in exactly two cases: comparing a file against an existing one with the same name, so that neither is overwritten, and hashing the files you point the duplicate finder at. Nothing from either case leaves the device. The app never transmits your files, their contents, or any information about them off the device. All of this processing happens locally, on your phone, and works with no internet connection at all.

Moving a file is done by copying it to the destination, verifying the copy succeeded, and only then removing the original. Nothing is uploaded at any stage.

One feature removes files: the duplicate cleaner. It acts only on the copies you select, and one copy of every file is always kept. What it removes goes to a trash folder inside Sorted Files, from which you can restore it for 7 days, after which it is purged. All of that happens on your device only — nothing about those files, not even a hash, is ever sent anywhere. Sorting never deletes anything.

4. Permissions the app requests, and why

• All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — required to read and move files in the folders you watch. Since Android 11, the Storage Access Framework cannot reach the root Downloads directory, and an app can only touch files it created itself through the media store — a PDF your browser saved, or an archive a messaging app wrote, belongs to that app, so moving it needs a per-file permission dialog every time. This permission is the only technically available way to organise the full range of downloaded file types, which is the app's entire purpose. It is used for nothing else.
• Read/write external storage (older Android versions only) — the equivalent permission on Android 10, the oldest version the app supports.
• Internet (INTERNET) — used only by Google Play Billing to check and complete the one-time Pro purchase. The app makes no other network requests, and never transmits file data.
• Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING) — required to offer the one-time Pro upgrade through Google Play.
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — to show progress and the result of a sort, including the one notification after a background sort that moved something. Deny it and sorting still works; it simply posts nothing.
• Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — so that background sorting is re-armed after the phone restarts or the app is updated.

5. Purchases

The Pro upgrade is a single one-time purchase. It is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see, receive, or store your name, payment card, billing address, or any other payment detail — Google handles the transaction and tells the app only whether the purchase exists. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

The app keeps a single local flag recording whether Pro is active, so it does not have to ask Google every time you open it. That flag lives in the app's own private storage on your device and is never transmitted.

6. Data stored on your device

The app saves your preferences — theme choice, whether to show the confirmation preview, and the Pro flag described above — in Android's standard private app storage. It also keeps, in the same private storage, the sort history: a local database of what moved where, which is what makes undo possible. Your custom rules and watched-folder settings are stored there too. This data never leaves your device, is not readable by other apps, and is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app or clear its data from Android Settings.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any. The only third party involved in the app at all is Google, in its role as the Play Store billing provider described in section 5.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because we hold no data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to retain and nothing for us to delete on request. All information the app creates is local to your device, and you can remove all of it at any time by uninstalling the app, or via Android Settings → Apps → Adinand Auto File Sorter → Storage → Clear data.

Files that the app has already organised are your files and stay on your device; uninstalling does not move or delete them. If you would like written confirmation that no data about you is held, write to [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can.

9. Children

The app is a general-purpose file-management utility. It is not directed to children, and it collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

10. Security

Your files never leave your device, which removes the largest category of risk outright. Local preferences are held in Android's private per-app storage, which the operating system isolates from other applications.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app's Play Store release notes.
